# Spotr vs Pactive

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pactive at freemium against Spotr's subscription. Pactive also leads on review sentiment (94% vs 61%). Spotr's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (640 vs 26). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spotr sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Pactive sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.19 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Spotr against 4.8 for Pactive. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spotr has 640 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Spotr's written reviews are positive against 94% of Pactive's.

Spotr ships an update every 2 days, Pactive every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
