# Spotr vs TreadCal

The clearest difference is monetization model: TreadCal at free with in-app purchases against Spotr's subscription. TreadCal also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Spotr's advantage is ratings volume (640 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spotr sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and TreadCal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TreadCal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spotr has 640 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spotr ships an update every 2 days, TreadCal weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
