# AlwaysCoach vs GeniusEats

The clearest difference is monetization model: GeniusEats at free with in-app purchases against AlwaysCoach's subscription. GeniusEats also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). AlwaysCoach's advantage is ratings volume (30 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AlwaysCoach sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and GeniusEats sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GeniusEats holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AlwaysCoach has 30 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of AlwaysCoach's written reviews are positive against 100% of GeniusEats's.

AlwaysCoach ships an update every 9 days, GeniusEats fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
