# AlwaysCoach vs SetWorkouts

The clearest difference is rating: SetWorkouts at 5.0 against AlwaysCoach's 4.3. SetWorkouts also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days). AlwaysCoach's advantage is ratings volume (30 vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AlwaysCoach sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. SetWorkouts asks for nothing beyond the download.

SetWorkouts holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AlwaysCoach has 30 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AlwaysCoach ships an update every 9 days, SetWorkouts every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
