# The Drafty Dane vs Backward

The clearest difference is update cadence: Backward at every 5 days against The Drafty Dane's every 2 months. The Drafty Dane's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Drafty Dane ships an update every 2 months, Backward every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
