# Glow vs MelanoMeter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MelanoMeter at none against Glow's 3. MelanoMeter also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 10 days). Glow's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Glow sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. MelanoMeter asks for nothing beyond the download.

MelanoMeter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Glow has 2.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Glow ships an update every 10 days, MelanoMeter daily. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
