# Poster Shine vs Silhouette

The clearest difference is rating: Poster Shine at 4.0 against Silhouette's 3.3. Poster Shine also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (112 vs 21). Silhouette's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 26%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Silhouette sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Poster Shine asks for nothing beyond the download.

Poster Shine holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Poster Shine has 112 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Poster Shine's written reviews are positive against 48% of Silhouette's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Poster Shine ships an update every 2 months, Silhouette every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
