# Pre vs ChatUWM

Pre and ChatUWM both sit at 3.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of Pre's written reviews are positive against 41% of ChatUWM's. Pre also leads on iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.0). ChatUWM's advantage is ratings volume (182 vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.7 for Pre against 3.8 for ChatUWM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChatUWM has 182 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of Pre's written reviews are positive against 41% of ChatUWM's.

Pre ships an update every 6 weeks, ChatUWM fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
