# Desmos Graphing Calculator vs Equations

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Desmos Graphing Calculator at 1.3K against Equations's 14. Equations's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Desmos Graphing Calculator against 4.4 for Equations. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desmos Graphing Calculator has 1.3K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
