# Door Cup vs Tech Takes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tech Takes at every 2 days against Door Cup's every 6 months. Tech Takes also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Door Cup's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Door Cup against 5.0 for Tech Takes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Door Cup has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Door Cup ships an update every 6 months, Tech Takes every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
