# Notebook vs Character Count Note

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Character Count Note at 100% against Notebook's 72%. Character Count Note also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (3 vs 1). Notebook's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Character Count Note sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Character Count Note holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 14K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Notebook ships an update weekly, Character Count Note every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
