# Pirate Kings™ vs Spin A Spell

The clearest difference is rating: Spin A Spell at 4.7 against Pirate Kings™'s 4.3. Spin A Spell also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Pirate Kings™'s advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 1.3K) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pirate Kings™ sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Spin A Spell sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spin A Spell holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pirate Kings™ has 11K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Pirate Kings™'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Spin A Spell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pirate Kings™ ships an update fortnightly, Spin A Spell every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
