# Con Edison vs FriedrichGo

The clearest difference is update cadence: Con Edison at every 6 weeks against FriedrichGo's every 22 months. Con Edison also leads on ratings volume (125K vs 3.2K) and review sentiment (48% vs 38%). FriedrichGo's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Con Edison against 4.7 for FriedrichGo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Con Edison has 125K ratings behind it against 3.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 48% of Con Edison's written reviews are positive against 38% of FriedrichGo's.

Con Edison ships an update every 6 weeks, FriedrichGo every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
