# Con Edison vs Chatrel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chatrel at 100% against Con Edison's 48%. Chatrel also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Con Edison's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.2) and ratings volume (125K vs 5). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Con Edison holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Con Edison has 125K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Con Edison's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chatrel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Con Edison ships an update every 6 weeks, Chatrel every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
