# DVPN vs UpVPN

The clearest difference is update cadence: UpVPN at every 3 weeks against DVPN's every 3 months. UpVPN also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and UpVPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $39.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

UpVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 6 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 92% of DVPN's written reviews are positive against 100% of UpVPN's.

DVPN ships an update every 3 months, UpVPN every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
