# StarrySky vs Gemstone

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gemstone at every 2 days against StarrySky's every 13 months. Gemstone also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4). StarrySky's advantage is ratings volume (221 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarrySky sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Gemstone sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gemstone holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarrySky has 221 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

StarrySky ships an update every 13 months, Gemstone every 2 days. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
