# Synctrain vs Wormhole File Transfer

The clearest difference is rating: Synctrain at 4.9 against Wormhole File Transfer's 4.2. Synctrain also leads on ratings volume (123 vs 5). Wormhole File Transfer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Synctrain holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synctrain has 123 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Synctrain's written reviews are positive against 100% of Wormhole File Transfer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
