# Quick Journal vs Nuke

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Quick Journal at none against Nuke's 4. Quick Journal also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and device support (3 vs 1). Nuke's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nuke sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Quick Journal asks for nothing beyond the download.

Quick Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Quick Journal's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nuke's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Quick Journal ships an update every 9 days, Nuke every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
