# Hello Doctor vs Virgin Active SA

The clearest difference is rating: Virgin Active SA at 4.8 against Hello Doctor's 1.7. Virgin Active SA also leads on ratings volume (744 vs 6) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Hello Doctor's advantage is review sentiment (17% vs 6%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Virgin Active SA holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Virgin Active SA has 744 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Hello Doctor's written reviews are positive against 6% of Virgin Active SA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hello Doctor ships an update every 3 months, Virgin Active SA monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 9, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
