# Combinations vs Ripple

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ripple at none against Combinations's 1. Ripple also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Combinations's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 3) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Combinations sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Ripple asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ripple holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Combinations has 41 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 98% of Combinations's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ripple's.

Combinations ships an update every 2 months, Ripple every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
