# CleverType vs Home Scribe

The clearest difference is update cadence: Home Scribe at every 5 days against CleverType's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CleverType sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Home Scribe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CleverType ships an update fortnightly, Home Scribe every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
