# Scanner vs PriRec

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scanner at weekly against PriRec's monthly. Scanner also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and PriRec sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanner ships an update weekly, PriRec monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
