# Firefly Permanent Lights vs TruLight

Firefly Permanent Lights and TruLight both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of TruLight's written reviews are positive against 50% of Firefly Permanent Lights's. TruLight also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Firefly Permanent Lights holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 17 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Firefly Permanent Lights's written reviews are positive against 90% of TruLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Firefly Permanent Lights ships an update every 3 weeks, TruLight every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
