# Spellers vs Shapers

The clearest difference is rating: Shapers at 5.0 against Spellers's 4.2. Shapers also leads on review sentiment (84% vs 54%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Spellers's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spellers sells 45 one-off in-app purchases and Shapers sells 20 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shapers holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spellers has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 54% of Spellers's written reviews are positive against 84% of Shapers's.

Spellers ships an update every 4 days, Shapers fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
