# Backpack Battles vs Astrea

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Astrea at 74% against Backpack Battles's 47%. Astrea also leads on price ($6.99 vs $9.99) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Backpack Battles's advantage is ratings volume (327 vs 21) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On ads, in-app purchases, chart position and device support there is nothing between them.

Backpack Battles costs $9.99 and Astrea $6.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backpack Battles holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backpack Battles has 327 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Backpack Battles's written reviews are positive against 74% of Astrea's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backpack Battles ships an update every 8 days, Astrea every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
