# Read AI vs ShiftLedger

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Read AI at none against ShiftLedger's 2. Read AI also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 1). ShiftLedger's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ShiftLedger sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Read AI asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Read AI against 5.0 for ShiftLedger. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Read AI has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Read AI ships an update every 3 weeks, ShiftLedger every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
