# SyncTasks vs Lock In

The clearest difference is monetization model: SyncTasks at free with in-app purchases against Lock In's subscription. SyncTasks also leads on ratings volume (355 vs 1) and review sentiment (69% vs 50%). Lock In's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SyncTasks sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Lock In sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lock In holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SyncTasks has 355 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of SyncTasks's written reviews are positive against 50% of Lock In's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SyncTasks ships an update every 10 days, Lock In every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 9, 2026 respectively.
