# LIFX vs U

LIFX and U both sit at 3.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of U's written reviews are positive against 18% of LIFX's. U also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 18.0). LIFX's advantage is ratings volume (7.1K vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.7 for LIFX against 3.7 for U. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LIFX has 7.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 18% of LIFX's written reviews are positive against 100% of U's.

LIFX ships an update fortnightly, U every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
