# aSim vs For the Plot

The clearest difference is monetization model: aSim at free with in-app purchases against For the Plot's subscription. aSim also leads on ratings volume (71 vs 1). For the Plot's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. aSim sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and For the Plot sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

For the Plot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: aSim has 71 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

aSim ships an update every 4 days, For the Plot every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
