# Self vs Mindspire

The clearest difference is ads: Self at none against Mindspire's shown. Self also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months). Mindspire's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Self sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Mindspire sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Self ships an update every 8 days, Mindspire every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
