# Lily pad vs Visual Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Visual Timer at 4.6 against Lily pad's 3.7. Visual Timer also leads on ratings volume (46 vs 3). Lily pad's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Visual Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Lily pad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Visual Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Visual Timer has 46 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.

Lily pad ships an update every 6 days, Visual Timer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on July 21, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
