# TLDL vs Utter

The clearest difference is rating: TLDL at 4.8 against Utter's 3.4. TLDL also leads on ratings volume (7.1K vs 5). Utter's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 9 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TLDL sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Utter sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TLDL holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TLDL has 7.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TLDL ships an update every 9 days, Utter daily. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
