# The Midst vs Croissant

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Midst at 100% against Croissant's 63%. The Midst also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Croissant's advantage is ratings volume (200 vs 3) and iOS requirement (18.5 vs 27.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Midst sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Croissant sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Midst holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Croissant has 200 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of The Midst's written reviews are positive against 63% of Croissant's.

The Midst ships an update every 4 weeks, Croissant fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
