# Shiny vs Booster

The clearest difference is ads: Shiny at none against Booster's shown. Shiny also leads on ratings volume (3.7K vs 6) and chart position (#123 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shiny sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Booster sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Shiny against 5.0 for Booster. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shiny has 3.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 95% of Shiny's written reviews are positive against 100% of Booster's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
