# Popcorn vs GuideKeep

The clearest difference is monetization model: GuideKeep at free against Popcorn's subscription. GuideKeep also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). Popcorn's advantage is ratings volume (892 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GuideKeep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Popcorn has 892 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 91% of Popcorn's written reviews are positive against 100% of GuideKeep's.

Popcorn ships an update every 8 days, GuideKeep every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
