# The Thinking Machine vs Journey

The clearest difference is update cadence: Journey at every 2 days against The Thinking Machine's monthly. The Thinking Machine's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Thinking Machine ships an update monthly, Journey every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
