# Slax Reader vs Evernext

The clearest difference is update cadence: Evernext at every 4 days against Slax Reader's every 2 weeks. Slax Reader's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slax Reader sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Evernext sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Slax Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, Evernext every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
