# Tangle vs thingz

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tangle at 100% against thingz's 58%. Tangle also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). thingz's advantage is ratings volume (798 vs 27) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

thingz holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: thingz has 798 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Tangle's written reviews are positive against 58% of thingz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tangle ships an update every 11 days, thingz every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
