# Stenographer vs Notee

The clearest difference is price: Notee at Free against Stenographer's $4.99. Notee also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (4.7K vs 3). Stenographer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (88% vs 69%). On update cadence, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Notee is free to download; Stenographer costs $4.99 up front. Notee sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Stenographer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notee holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notee has 4.7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Stenographer's written reviews are positive against 69% of Notee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stenographer ships an update every 5 days, Notee weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
