# Notez vs Simple Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Simple Notes at 4.7 against Notez's 4.2. Simple Notes also leads on ratings volume (790 vs 15). Notez's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Notez asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simple Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes has 790 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Notez's written reviews are positive against 88% of Simple Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notez ships an update every 10 days, Simple Notes every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
