# Fill Ball vs Thread Jam

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Fill Ball at none against Thread Jam's 14. Fill Ball also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Thread Jam's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thread Jam sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. Fill Ball asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fill Ball holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thread Jam has 11K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fill Ball ships an update every 2 months, Thread Jam monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
