# VPN Direct vs Adios Alpha

The clearest difference is rating: VPN Direct at 5.0 against Adios Alpha's 4.2. Adios Alpha's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 33%) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Direct sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Adios Alpha asks for nothing beyond the download.

VPN Direct holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Adios Alpha has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of VPN Direct's written reviews are positive against 73% of Adios Alpha's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VPN Direct ships an update fortnightly, Adios Alpha every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
