# SBMonitor vs VIP

The clearest difference is rating: SBMonitor at 5.0 against VIP's 3.6. SBMonitor also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). VIP's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 38 months) and ratings volume (18 vs 3). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SBMonitor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VIP has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SBMonitor ships an update every 38 months, VIP every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
