# Donut Maker vs Cupcake Doodle

The clearest difference is price: Donut Maker at Free against Cupcake Doodle's $0.99. Donut Maker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 21 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). Cupcake Doodle's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and chart position (#180 vs unranked). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Donut Maker is free to download; Cupcake Doodle costs $0.99 up front. Donut Maker sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Cupcake Doodle asks for nothing beyond the download.

Donut Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Donut Maker has 1.8K ratings behind it against 265, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Donut Maker's written reviews are positive against 90% of Cupcake Doodle's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Donut Maker ships an update weekly, Cupcake Doodle every 21 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
