# Yaread vs WaStory

The clearest difference is review sentiment: WaStory at 62% against Yaread's 34%. Yaread's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yaread sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and WaStory sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Yaread holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 353 and 1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Yaread's written reviews are positive against 62% of WaStory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yaread ships an update fortnightly, WaStory every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
