# Yaread vs Stck Reader

Yaread and Stck Reader both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Stck Reader's written reviews are positive against 33% of Yaread's. Yaread's advantage is ratings volume (350 vs 11). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yaread sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Stck Reader sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stck Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yaread has 350 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Yaread's written reviews are positive against 100% of Stck Reader's.

Yaread ships an update fortnightly, Stck Reader every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
