# Talkspace vs 888

The clearest difference is monetization model: 888 at free against Talkspace's subscription. Talkspace's advantage is ratings volume (47K vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

888 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talkspace has 47K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Talkspace ships an update every 6 weeks, 888 every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
