# Typecast vs Podong Diary

The clearest difference is ads: Typecast at none against Podong Diary's shown. Podong Diary's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Typecast sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month and Podong Diary sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Typecast ships an update every 8 days, Podong Diary every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
