# Speed Test vs Uplink App

The clearest difference is rating: Uplink App at 5.0 against Speed Test's 4.4. Uplink App also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4). Speed Test's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (59 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Test sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Uplink App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Uplink App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Test has 59 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Speed Test's written reviews are positive against 59% of Uplink App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speed Test ships an update every 2 weeks, Uplink App every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
