# Riptide GP2 vs GUMRUN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GUMRUN at none against Riptide GP2's 7. GUMRUN also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Riptide GP2's advantage is ratings volume (7.1K vs 1) and review sentiment (91% vs 75%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Riptide GP2 sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. GUMRUN asks for nothing beyond the download.

GUMRUN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Riptide GP2 has 7.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of Riptide GP2's written reviews are positive against 75% of GUMRUN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Riptide GP2 ships an update every 2 months, GUMRUN every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
